    • Elsie Sze grew up in Hong Kong and now resides in San Mateo, California. Her novels, Hui Gui: a Chinese story (2005) and The Heart of the Buddha (2009) received nominations for Foreword Magazine’s Book Awards in fiction categories. Elsie won the inaugural Saphira Prize for her manuscript “Ghost Cave: a novel of Sarawak”. Published by WiPS in 2014, it is distributed worldwide.

    • Luisa Ternau studied literature at the University of Trieste in Italy and then gained an MA in modern English literature at King’s College London. She enjoys living in Hong Kong because as a cosmopolitan metropolis it offers exploration of multiple viewpoints and perspectives on culture, society, politics, religion and life in general. Luisa won third prize in the Proverse Poetry Prize for Single Poems 2016.

    • Currently living in Macau, Deb is an academic editor with a focus in medicine, veterinary medicine and nursing. She has worked in peer-reviewed research in Canada and the US, and at a number of universities, editing graduate and undergraduate courses in subjects from anaesthesia to water treatment. She particularly enjoys working with authors for whom English is a second language.

    • Irene has been a learning and development professional in the service and luxury retail industries for 20 years. A native of Hong Kong, she received her secondary and tertiary education in Canada, and completed graduate studies in comparative literature, Buddhist studies and creative writing in Hong Kong. Her story won the SCMP/RTHK Top Story Competition in 2012. She also wrote a play for the 10-Minute Play Festival in 2014.

    • Elizabeth Vongsaravanh is a native of Hungary. She is currently operating a cosy 1920s-style cocktail bar in Luang Prabang. Her art and writing are a reflection of her constant need to change, and a constant desire for permanence. A petal in the wind, a rock at the bottom of a lake, she strives to find balance through creation.

    • Foremost a rider – side saddle her favourite seat – this former consultant to the British Equestrian Federation was inspired to write a book about the horses of China following a visit to breeder friends in Kentucky. She has since received a grant from the HKADC and a publication offer from Homa and Sakey for a scheduled book release in the USA in 2019.
