Mieko Lindsay won a New-Woman-Writer’s-Award (Joryuushinjin-sho) from Chuo-Koron Company in 1996 for her Japanese short novel entitled Kotaete Thomas (Tell Me, Thomas). Recipient of an MFA in creative writing from Hong Kong University and author of Takeru’s Pinch, published in HKU’s Yuan Yang, she also translates between English and Japanese.

Jane is a Chinese-Canadian English teacher, writer, and mother who currently lives in Hong Kong with her husband and two children. Her writing revolves the issues she mulls over most - love in all its forms, faith, parenting, marriage, insecurity. Her debut novel, All I Ever Wanted, will be published with Earnshaw Books in April 2023.

President of WiPS in 2001, Judy has retired to Vancouver Island, Canada. 

Storyteller, writer and book-obsessive, Jan recently retired from her job as a librarian, and now lives in the UK. A past chair of Hong Kong Battle of the Books, her passion is connecting stories and people. She gives workshops in oral telling as a language and communication skill, and is an active member of SCBWI in both Hong Kong and the UK.

Deborah Mannas is a poet and a singer/songwriter, a member of CASH. She performs her original material all over HK. She has a BA in Psychology, English literature and sociology and a masters in training and HR. Her poetry is available on allpoetry.com/DeborahMannas and on her website, DeborahMannas.com, where she also blogs.

Bhakti Mathur is the author of the popular ‘Amma Tell Me’ and ‘Amma Take Me’ series of children’s books with 18 published titles. Bhakti is a bibliotherapist, an executive coach, and a feature writer, contributing regularly to the SCMP. An ex-banker by profession, she lives in Hong Kong with her husband and two children.

Sarah worked in publishing in Edinburgh before moving to Hong Kong in 2003. She completed an MFA in writing at Hong Kong University in 2011. Since then she completed her first novel, The Dock, and is looking for a publisher for it. She has been involved with WiPS I Hong Kong for the last eight years.

Dr Karen Moyse lived in HK for 5 years, but is now in the UK. Her background is in Research Psychology and Children’s Nursing. Karen’s PhD focused on children 7-12 years and their use of mobile phones, finding that the development of freedom could be supported with the mobile. Karen has written several articles, a book and lectures internationally.

Treena Nairne is a professional writer, editor, corporate trainer and communications coach. She founded Dashpoint Management in 2018 to share her skills in communications, coaching and teaching. She has worked in journalism, publishing, internal communications and media relations. Treena was president of WiPS in 2004 to 2005.
