This year, WiPS again held its November members-only Festive Dinner in the historic and convivial surroundings of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club. As in the past, the venue provided the perfect platform for collaborative networking, inspiring conversations and much seasonal holiday cheer.
The friendly atmosphere encouraged discussion between long-time members and the recently joined on publishing subjects from best sellers, AI integration and the value of a digital version of Imprint 23, to project funding, literary agents and how to source a review. Gillian Kew kindly provided an informative recap of WiPS’ achievements in 2024, her overview sparking a lively exchange of ideas for future activities.
New members were warmly welcomed and invited to share their thoughts on what they would like to see WiPS offer them. The evening’s camaraderie was palpable as old friends reconnected and new friendships blossomed. The festive spirit was further elevated by a delicious meal and free-flowing wine: the ideal backdrop for relaxed personal conversations and shared laughter!
To add a touch of fun and festivity to the evening, attendees participated in a book exchange, which was followed by a group photo session. As the evening drew to a close, it was clear that everyone had greatly enjoyed the occasion and been inspired and energized for the year ahead.
We thank the WiPS Committee for organising such a wonderful event. We wait with anticipation to see what new activities and programmes WiPS will provide in 2025!
